Family:  Melanotaeniidae (Rainbowfishes, blue eyes)
Max. size:  8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from one collection taken in 1954 from an isolated oxbow lake near the Tami River, about 23 km southeast of Jayapura, Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 18-22
