Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 10 m
Distribution:  Asia: Xiamen to the Xisha Archipelago, southern China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Body silvery. Supraneural bones 2. Caudal fin lobes somewhat pointed (Ref. 39283).
Biology:  Occurs in shallow, coastal sandy and muddy areas associated with freshwater basins (Ref. 30392).
