Distribution:  Northwest Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 23-26; Anal soft rays: 34-40. Body elongate and very slender, with long tapering, protrusible snout. Moderately long chin barbel (Ref. 37039).
