Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Central America: upper Rio Salado de los Nadadores in Bolson de Cuatro Ciénegas, Coahuila, Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-10; Anal soft rays: 6-7; Vertebrae: 35-37
Biology:  Adults occur in habitats with moderate turbulence over gravel and small cobble substrate. They seem to concentrate in vegetated areas when present. Also found in eddying currents along vegetated or cobble shorelines (Ref. 26684).
