Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 5 - 11 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 80-91; Anal soft rays: 63-73; Vertebrae: 36-37. This species is distinguished by the following characters: interorbital space narrowly concave; no obvious sexual dimorphism; snout distinct; tip of palatine bone protruding into mouth; non-serrate gill rakers on upper limb 3-6; caudal fin with a pair of small, black submarginal blotches; the dorsal and anal fins each with series of black spots (Ref. 126082).
