Max. size:  4.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine; depth range 20 - 40 m, amphidromous
Distribution:  South America: Surinam and lower Rio Amazonas. Atlantic: northern Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 12-12. Eyes reduced, size do not fill the socket. Both sexes with jaw extending to the rear margin of the orbit. Pectoral fin count high (usually 18, 17-19). Tail elongated (Ref. 33570).
