Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Lord Howe Island, Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-9; Vertebrae: 28-28. Upper jaw relatively short, 10-11% SL; a stubby fleshy cirrus near distal end of maxilla (Ref. 39602).
Biology:  Inhabits rock reef (Ref. 75154).
