Environment:  reef-associated; brackish; marine; depth range - 120 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Delagoa Bay, Mozambique to Lamberts Bay, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 23-24; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 18-19
Biology:  Inhabit rocky and coral reefs (Ref. 9710). Found among weeds in estuaries (Ref. 9710). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205).
