Family:  Congridae (Conger and garden eels), subfamily: Congrinae
Max. size:  39.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 366 - 475 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico to the mouth of the Amazon.
Diagnosis:  Mouth inferior; preanal lateral line pores 41-44; dorsal and anal fin rays segmented; vertical margins with black margin (Ref. 13608).
Biology:  Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 15 August 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
