Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Philippines.
Diagnosis:  Compared to other species of Bathycongrus, its eye is larger, 16-18% HL (versus 13-18%); it has a single row of midlateral melanophores (holotype), representing remains of the pigment of the leptocephalus (versus 3 rows) (Ref. 36324).
