Distinguished from other congeners by the combination of the following characters: caudal vertebrae 12; absence of mark on side of head; head with a depression near the snout in individuals above 3.0 cm SL; wide ectopterygoid; arms of epibranchial 2 with two long tubular processes; arm of epibranchial 1 long; 25 proximal radials on dorsal-fin base; 13-14 proximal radials on anal-fin base; pre-orbital depth 55.8-58.8% HL; interorbital width 43.9-47.9% HL; arms of vertical trunk bar 7 with the same width; dorsal-fin spines 16; dorsal-fin rays 10-11; anal-fin rays 8-9; scales on lower lateral line row 8-10; snout not robust; rib pairs 11; and pre-orbital depth 55.8-58.8% HL (Ref. 79631). | |||
