Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  5.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range 55 - 80 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the southeast and southwest arms of Lake Malawi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Probably found over a substrate consisting of mud or sand with a thick layer of sediment. Feeds on benthic entomostracans, particularly ostracods and chydorid cladocerans (Ref. 267).
