Distribution:  Africa: occurs throughout Lake Malawi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs over open sand and feeds on sand-dwelling invertebrates (Ref. 5595). Solitary specimens usually seen over soft and muddy bottoms. Feeds on small invertebrates (Ref. 40898).
