Distribution:  South America: Río Suratá in Departamento de Santande, Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 24-24. Astroblepus ardiladuartei is distinguished by having obsolete adipose fin, premaxilla with 0-1 bicuspid teeth and 6-10 conic teeth in external row, 7 soft radii, and 24 vertebrae (Ref. 116456).
