Family:  Ariidae (Sea catfishes), subfamily: Ariinae
Max. size:  34 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish
Distribution:  Asia: Taiwan, Philippines, and questionably from northern Borneo.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in turbid inshore waters, estuaries, embayments, and brackish water lagoons (Ref. 38478). Feeds mainly from the bottom (Ref. 26909). An excellent food fish.
