Family:  Congridae (Conger and garden eels), subfamily: Bathymyrinae
Max. size:  27 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 100 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Gulf of California to Colombia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sand flats, often in protected bays and coves. Can bury and move about beneath sand. Often bury during the day and forage in the open at night (Ref. 5227).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 21 May 2007 Ref. (124695)
Threat to humans:  harmless
