Max. size:  48.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 533 - 864 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan, the Philippines, East and South China seas, and the Kyushu-Palau Ridge.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 0-0. Brownish without conspicuous markings (Ref. 244).
Biology:  A poorly known deep-water bottom shark (Ref. 11146). Oviparous (Ref. 50449).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 29 April 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
