Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, in the Madeira River drainage near Huamitá, Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  The males have pointed fins while the females' are rounded (Ref. 12251). Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered by the female parent (Ref. 47893).
