Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7; dH range: 10
Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, middle Negro River drainage (near mouths of Urubaxi and DaraĆ£ rivers), and Lake Manacapuru in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Maximum length is 6.0 cm TL (Ref. 12225). These fish practice harem breeding when the females outnumber the available males (Ref. 12251).
