Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 5.80000019073486 - 7.19999980926514, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Sanaga, Nyong, Ntem, Ivindo, Lobo, Dja, Sangha, Doumé, Boumba, lower Ubangi and middle Congo River basin in Cameroon, Gabon, Congo Republic and Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 47774).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Restricted to the inland plateau (Ref. 47774) where it inhabits raffia swamps and swampy parts of shallow brooks under forest cover (Ref. 3788, 47774). Bottom spawner, 2 months incubation (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
