Family:  Blenniidae (Combtooth blennies), subfamily: Salariinae
Max. size:  7.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 18 - 37 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Persian Gulf to Port Alfred, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-20; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 17-21. Body with about 7 dark bands and numerous dark-margined pale spots (Ref. 4404).
Biology:  Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114).
