Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Oceania: restricted to the O'Shannessy River (138°45'E), Leichardt River (139°49'E) and Norman River (141°08'E), Queensland in the Gulf of Carpentaria drainage, Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits freshwater streams that frequently have moderate to high turbidity levels (Ref. 5259). Found among vegetation at the margin of creeks and rivers (Ref. 44894). Not much information on natural history, however, Ref. 7276 reports that it is a carnivore (confirmed by Ref. 6398) and Ref. 2906 reports that it breeds in small ponds or aquaria.
