Distinguished from all congeners by the combination of the following characters: no scales on preopercle and opercle; dorsal fin soft rays 11-12; pectoral fin rays 16-17; lateral scales rows 44-50, transverse scale rows 15-17, and predorsal scales 23-27; gill rakers on the lower arch of the first brachial arch only 5 (Ref. 77038). | |||
