Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: endemic to the Ryukyu Islands including the Amami Islands in Japan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Young individuals are frequently found in brackish waters (Ref. 637). Commercially cultured in Japan.
