Diagnosis: |
This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: D XII (rarely 11 or 13); scale rows between the fifth dorsal-fin spine base and lateral line 3½; juveniles with second anal-fin spine longer. Colouration: pelvic and anal-fins are pale yellow to yellow with black streaks present in the interradial membranes of anal-fin rays; caudal fin grey or yellowish grey (Hamilton, 1822). |
