Remarks 'carp', from Medieval Latin 'carpa', probably via Old French 'carpe' and of Germanic origin (p. 98, Ref. 11979); 'white', from Indo-European '*kwitnos' or '*kwidnos', formed from same base as Sanskrit 'sveta', i.e., white and Russian 'svet', i.e., light (p. 573, Ref. 11979); 'Hora' is in the ArunĂ£chal Pradesh (see Encarta 2000).
