Remarks 'Green', i.e., color of growing plants, from West and North Germanic 'gronjaz' from prehistoric Germanic 'gro-' (p. 263 in Ref. 11979); 'sturgeon', i.e., large elongate ganoid fishes of the north temperate zone and whose roe is made into caviar, from Middle French 'estourjon' of Germanic origin and akin to Old English 'styria', i.e., sturgeon (p. 1171 in Ref. 11979).
