---|---|
General | Missing country-specific information may be available from neighboring countries. |
Status | N=native; En=endemic; I=introduced; Ne=not established; Ex=extirpated; R=reintroduced; Q=questionable; M=misidentification; S=stray; Er=error |
Spawning | - includes information on spawning season, sex ratio, temperature at spawning, absolute and relative fecundity, fecundity-length relationship, daily spawning frequency of various stocks, gestation period and length of offspring for live-bearing taxa. |
Maturity | - requires information on length and age at first sexual maturity. |
Max. Size | - refers to the length of the largest fish caught/reported of the species. |
Growth | - refers to the change over time of the body mass (approximately body weight) of the species which includes growth parameters in the von Bertalanffy Growth Function. |
Mortality | - refers to the rate of deaths (usually on an annual basis in terms of proportion of the stock dying) from various causes. In population dynamics, the total mortality (Z) = fishing mortality (F) + natural mortality (M). |
Length-weight | - refers to the parameters which estimate the corresponding wet weight to any given length. Typically given as w=a*L^b, with weight in gram and length in centimeter. |
Food | - lists of organisms that have been found in the stomach or are otherwise known to be ingested by a given species |
Diet | - gives the percentages (in weight or volume) of the different types of food item reported from studies of stomach contents. |
Predators | - documents instances of a predator, not necessarily a fish, having consumed fish of a given species. |
Reproduction | - refers to data on reproductive mode, fertilization strategy, mating system, reproductive guild, and spawning frequency. |
Larvae | - requires detailed information on morphological characters of fish larvae as well as data on meristic characters from 'early' to 'late' stages; length at hatching, larval duration, length at first feeding, and typical water parameters are also important. |
Eggs | - includes information on fish egg characteristics (descriptive, meristic and metric), and environmental parameters usually associated with occurrence of fish eggs. |
Ecology | - refers to the information on the environment and the feeding habit of the species including the trophic levels. |
Genetics | - refers to chromosome information/mt DNA studies for the species. |
Photos | - refers to colored pictures of the species. |
