Short description
Dorsal spines (total): 79; Anal spines: 1214; Vertebrae: 56 - 59. Cylindrical body (Ref. 28149). Upper jaw prominent, a little longer than lower jaw (Ref. 3054, Ref. 28149, Ref. 42908). Number of dorsal finlets: 7-9 (Ref. 28149, Ref. 51884). Pectoral fin not reaching dorsal fin origin (Ref. 3054, Ref. 28149). Ganoid scales (Ref. 42904): 55-58 lateral line scales, 33-39 scales around body, 25-32 predorsal scales (Ref. 28149, Ref. 51884). Dorsal surface of the body is grey colored, with dark grey to black irregular blotches forming a dense and reticulate pattern, ventral surface uniform pale (Ref. 28149). The fleshy base of the pectoral fin with small spots on the posterior part (Ref. 28149). Dorsal fin spotted, no dark coloration on pelvic and anal fin (Ref. 28149).
