North America: Borax Lake and outflows (Alvord basin) in Oregon, USA.
Found in Borax Lake, a small, shallow, clear lake fed by hot springs. This is the only fish occurring in the lake (Ref. 86798). An opportunistic omnivore (Ref. 26179).
