Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Probably oceanic but also near the upper slope (Ref. 5578). The holotype was caught in a bottom trawl between 457 and 640 m, a second specimen was collected in the open ocean near the surface at less than 25 m (Ref. 247, 5578). Food unknown but the powerful jaws and sharp teeth suggest that this species can take relatively large prey (Ref. 247). Probably ovoviviparous with few young (Ref. 247).

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82805):  PD50 = 1.0020   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00372 (0.00142 - 0.00972), b=3.12 (2.89 - 3.35), based on LWR estimates for this Subfamily-BS (Ref. 93245).
Trophic Level (Ref. 69278):  4.3   ±0.6 se; Based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 69278):  Low, minimum population doubling time 4.5 - 14 years (Fec assumed to be <100).
Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (22 of 100) .
