Etymology: Campellolebias: Named after Gilberto Campello that made expeditions in Brazil + Greek, lebias, lebiou = a kind of fish.

Aquarium specimens prefer waters with 25°C mean temperature, pH=6.8, water hardness of 10 and areas with rocks, plants and driftwood. Carnivorous, egg laying and peaceful community fish (Ref. 6398). Bottom spawner, 5 months incubation. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
