Western Central Pacific: endemic to the Mariana Islands.
Adults occur in exposed seaward reefs, on relatively barren gently sloping terraces with scattered low-profile corals. Feed on zooplankton found 1 to 2 meters above the substrate (Ref. 7247). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
