Etymology: Myxine: Greek, myxinos, word used by Linne, slime fish (1846) (Ref. 45335). More on author: Girard.
This species is synonym of Myxine glutinosa Linnaeus, 1758 in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. May 2011: Ref. 86870) following Mecklenburg et al. (2011: Ref. 86838). Please send references, or more studies are needed.
