Africa: White Nile drainage in Sudan, the Nile and its delta in Egypt, lakes in northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, drainages in Uganda and central Tanzania. Reported from Kenya (Ref. 27139).
Found in small bodies of water and shallow weedy parts of larger water bodies, swamps, and irrigation ditches (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
