Northeast Atlantic: off southern Portugal and in the Mediterranean Sea.
Prefer steep rocky walls. Feed on small invertebrates especially crustaceans; also feed predominantly on algae (Ref. 5981). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205).
