Pacific Ocean: Hawaii southward to central Polynesia, westward through Micronesia, and through the East Indies.
Found in mixed sand, rubble, and coral areas of seaward reefs (Ref. 9710). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Feeds mainly on mollusks (prosobranch gastropods) and foraminiferans (Ref.3921).
