Africa: Mungo drainage in western and southwestern Cameroon, southward to Rio Benito drainage in western Equatorial Guinea.
Occurs in swamps and quiet parts of brook under forest cover in the coastal lowlands (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
