Coloration: in life: body translucent, sometimes covered with small black dots (Ref. 57127). Preserved specimens: body whitish-beige, sometimes with small spots of pigment along lateral line and anal-fin base, as well as on head and back (Ref. 57127).
Benthic species which occurs in deep water. Feed on plankton and crustaceans (Ref. 13851). Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).
