Indonesian adults bluish black with pale bluish grey tail. Blue scribbles and spots show intermittently when displaying (Ref. 48636).
Western Pacific: Taiwan to the Solomon Islands.
Various coral reef habitats from estuaries to outer reef lagoons to about 20 m depth, but usually more common on shallow reef flat at the 6 m mark (Ref. 9710, 48636). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205).
