Etymology: Phreatobius: Greek, phreas, -atos = well, spring + Greek, bios = alive (Ref. 45335);  dracunculus: Derived from the Latin draco (dragon), combined with a diminutive suffix - unculus. This is in reference to the color and general aspect of the body and fins of the fish.
