Etymology: Pseudecheneis: Greek, pseudes = false + Greek, echein = to hold + Greek, nays = ship; remora, suckling fish; 1774 (Ref. 45335); eddsi: Named for David Edds, who collected part of the type series and in recognition of his work on Nepalese fishes.
