Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 53-56; Anal soft rays: 48 - 51; Vertebrae: 59 - 62. Diagnosis: Long-finned, slit-eyed careproct with slanted mouth and silvery belly and peritoneum; body low, cylindrical, its greatest body depth 93% head length (HL); head wide and flattened, its width almost equal to greatest depth; upper ray of pectoral found at the level of lower edge of eye, base of lower ray at the vertical of anterior third of eye; eye large (27% HL); teeth similar in size; gill slit against eye 0.9 of its diameter; disc, 24% HL (Ref. 41470).
