Vertebrae: 29. Compressed and deep body with the greatest body depth at the origin of the pelvic fins (Ref. 52267). Head large, 39.4-41.0% of SL (Ref. 52267). The premaxillary pedicel of the upper jaw is slightly longer than the dentigerous arm of the premaxilla and it slopes at an angle of 77° from the horizon (Ref. 52267). The dental arcade comprises two rows of closely set unicuspid teeth, in the outer row 53 teeth and in the inner row 40 teeth (Ref. 52267). The lower jaw is relatively long with a rounded dental arcade; with two rows of erect, slightly recurved and irregularly spaced unicuspid teeth, in the outer row 37 teeth and in the inner row a few teeth (Ref. 52267). Number of total dorsal fin rays: 26-27 (Ref. 52267). Number of total anal fin rays: 12-13 (Ref. 52267). Pectoral fin relatively long, 25.0-28.4% of SL, and just reaching the origin of the anal fin (Ref. 52267). Caudal peduncle short and deep (Ref. 52267). Cycloid scales with a few weakly ctenoid scales on the lower flanks; 31-32 lateral line scales, 20-22 upper lateral line scales and 10-12 lower lateral line scales; 6-7 scales between the pelvic and pectoral fin bases; 5-7 scales between the lateral line and the origin of the dorsal fin; 4-5 cheeck scale rows (Ref. 52267). Number of abdominal vertebrae 15; caudal vertebrae are low in number: 14 (Ref. 52267). Preserved material has a beige background colour that is pigmented brown by a series of spots and lines (Ref. 52267). The anterior head is pigmented; mental and opercular blotches are present (Ref. 52267). There are three poorly defined and broken lines along the body: midlateral, dorsal lateral and dorsal medial bands; there are 6-7 short and indistinct vertical bars on the body (Ref. 52267). The belly and the ventral flank are unpigmented (Ref. 52267).
Found in quiet backwater (Ref. 52267).

50 = 0.5156 [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01479 (0.00693 - 0.03157), b=2.97 (2.80 - 3.14), based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref.
