Vertebrae: 72 - 80. Two suprabranchial pores. Teeth simple, long, slightly convex rearward. Lower lobe of the pectoral fin long, contained 3-3.5 times in SL. Pectoral fin with a large notch; upper lobe is short, and does not reach to the origin of the anal fin. The rays of the lower lobe are approximately twice as long as those of the upper, reaching origin of the anal fin.
