Dorsal

(total): 26 - 30. Differs from all other mastacembelids found in Myanmar and Thailand in having body with a series of very regular, oblique, dark bars, each with a narrow extension extending partially or entirely across abdomen, and having ripe females with a very elongate genital papillae (Ref. 39392).
Occurs in streams to peats (Ref. 57235). Found in medium to large-sized rivers and flooded fields (Ref. 12975). Nocturnal, feeding on invertebrates and small fishes (Ref. 13371). Commonly seen in aquarium trades and fish markets (Ref. 57235).
