Etymology: Myxine: Greek, myxinos, word used by Linne, slime fish (1846) (Ref. 45335).
Probably a synonym of Myxine knappi Wisner & McMillan 1995 in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Mar. 2011: Ref. 86697). To be confirmed by a publication.
