Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Primarily a brackish water fish that enters and lives in fresh water. In freshwater, adults occur mainly in larger water bodies (rivers and streams) with mud or clay substrates, and rarely found in smaller streams. Form schools of 10 to 25 individuals. Diurnal. Oviparous, distinct pairing possibly like other members of the same family (Ref. 205).

Estimates of some properties based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82805):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01023 (0.00446 - 0.02348), b=3.02 (2.83 - 3.21), based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)Family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic Level (Ref. 69278):  4.0   ±0.50 se; Based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 69278):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Assuming Fec < 10,000).
