Issue
This species is synonym of Chrysiptera unimaculata (Cuvier, 1830) in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Mar. 2011: Ref. 86697) following Allen (1991: Ref. 7247:243). But Allen indicated that synonymy (in page 243) was an error, and the species is valid (in page 252) (pers. comm., 11/1997).

Adults inhabit rocky inshore areas (Ref. 7247). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
