Asia: China (Ref. 33299), Taiwan (Ref. 5193) and Korea (Ref. 58345). Two subspecies were recognized: Sarcocheilichthys nigripinnis morii in Korea; and Sarcocheilichthys nigripinnis nigripinnis in China and Taiwan.
